Celebrating Batman Day, DC will have a fan signing event with Frank Miller, Brian Azzarello, Andy Kubert, and Klaus Janson.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (1986) was a seminal work that changed the field of comics storytelling. That’s probably why DC has revisited that universe many times. The latest installment in The Dark Knight Universe—Batman: The Dark Knight III: The Master Race—sees Batman not fighting against Superman, but joining forces with him to stop a common deadly enemy.

The almost two-year nine-issue event reunited the team of Frank Miller and Klaus Janson with the addition of two other industry luminaries—artist Andy Kubert and writer Brian Azzarello. To celebrate Batman Day, DC will be a holding a special fan signing event with this creative team on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Barnes & Noble Union Square. From DC Comics, here’s the official press release:

Available September 13, BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT: MASTER RACE is a special, hardcover collected edition of the series that continued Frank Miller’s landmark DARK KNIGHT SAGA. BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT: MASTER RACE captures a world after the toppling of Lex Luthor and the apparent death of Batman himself. Who is left to save Gotham City and the rest of the world against the Master Race?

In celebration of Harley Quinn’s 25th Anniversary, this year the clown princess of crime is taking over DC’s annual Batman Day celebration. Co-created by acclaimed producers Paul Dini (DARK NIGHT: A TRUE BATMAN STORY) and Bruce Timm (Batman Beyond), Harley Quinn first appeared on the hit Batman: The Animated Series in a September 1992 episode, “The Joker’s Favor.” Following her TV debut, Harley Quinn spawned the now popular comic series and is one of the fastest growing characters in DC history.

A purchase of BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT: MASTER RACE is required to attend the signing and fans may bring two additional items from home for the team to sign. Wristbands for the signing will be given out on a first come, first serve basis, starting at 9 a.m. on September 23.
